    Hello,
a friend of mine aquired this Ford(?) 3sp transmission with a bunch of flathead parts. We were unable to locate any marking on the transmission and would like to know what exactly we've got.
Since some of the parts originated from Eastern Germany there is a chance that it is a GAZ transmission.

  2. Open it up and look but I doubt it's a 39. I say that looking at the leaning top. I believe that says 36 if I remember right. Top center of the bell housing on the flat spot is the i.d. numbers to tell you exctly what it started life as, that still don't mean much. Open the top and look.

Thanks, will have a closer look for the numbers. Good to know its a Ford flathead transmission anyway.

Appears to be a 35 based on the rear mount and the slanted shift tower. Would have straight cut teeth on the low / reverse gears. Seems to have an odd hub for the clutch release bearing.
