Ford 390 cam and modification help needed!

    Yes i gues whe have about the same price in sweden
    my 64 Galaxie have a 390 PI with some 80s Crane
    Fireball Cam 294 deg.if i remember right. About the same
    as the stock PI cam. 2.82 rear gear to high for the auto
    if i go 90 kmh it takes 20 litres per 100 km if i go 130 kmh
    it takes 15 litres per 100 km
    im going to reinstal the T10 or maby a tko 600 or a richmond
    lower rear gear and junk the aftermarket breakerles ign that
    previous owner mounted and install a duraspark some better
    cam aftermarket heads and an old streatmaster i have on the
    shelf an 750 or a 830 ad holley but my main goal is not fuelmilage
    maby i build a EFI for it later with a weber intake

    If you're going to do anything, loose the stock exhaust manifolds. Headers on an FE is about the best thing you can do for cheap.

    I agree 100%.
    Changing the cam and intake would show very little without improving the exhaust scavenging.

    Yes the stock exhaust manifolds is a joke atleast in
    cars i dont know in the trucks 390pi/hp 406 427 428 cj
    have better manifolds

    Funny you're saying that! I was just looking at headers at summit. Will definetely do the exhaust also. Thinking around 1 5/8 headers, full length, 2 1/4- 2 1/2" with the glasspacks i have already. A 3" would sound better but not ideal for my performance level. Dual pipes, no x or h.

    either 2 1/4 or 2 1/2. X pipe if you can fit it. Throw some glass packs in and ur good.

    Hey Rokkern,

    Did you complete your build? What specs did you end up with and what kind of mileage did you get on your 390? Doing the same thing on my 390 and having the same considerations!
