Art & Inspiration Ford 300 I six miniature working engine

Gents,
This is my current project. Having designed and built an inline 4 cylinder engine years ago I wanted to add a 6 cylinder configuration to my collection.
I started with my 4 cylinder drawings and as I proceeded I realized I didn't want another generic engine but rather one that was based on a production engine, with some liberties taken.
Being a Ford guy all my life the decision was fairly easy, the venerable 300 I six.
Although I have a complete build series on another forum I'll just post the up to date photos.
The bore and stroke are .750 x .875. The block is from bar 6061 bar stock with pressed in iron liners to form the water jackets. The crank is 1144 steel and the cam is W-1 tools steel.
The head is fine grained iron with 3 water passages drilled the full length.
The oil system is splash and the ignition is electronic with a Hall trigger mounted on the side of the distributor.
In keeping with the design of the full sized engine I needed a way to drive the distributor from the middle of the cam. This would require helical gears, of which there were non available for the size I needed so I learned to cut my own. A lot of the external features, oil filter, fuel pump, alternator and starter are there for the aesthetic value of the engine.
To date I have about 700 hours which includes making the detailed drawings.

Does not look like you are easily challenged. Very nice. Are you going to build a scale model vehicle to set it in or the transmission to bolt up behind?

I already have a 302 Ford V-8 (1/3 scale) along with a fully working Borg-Warner T-5 and last year I just finished a Ford 9" rear end. I have a frame and suspension drawn up to build a '32' street rod I'm just trying to figure the best way to fabricate the frame. In the mean time I'm working on this project.
I will post separate threads on the 302, T-5 and 9".

Awesome work, well done!

I want to do a V8 some day, but I don't know if that is ever coming to pass.
Pops has a Conley, but he has a long way to go as he bought it as a kit.

Being yours if from scratch makes it totally over the top cool!

All I can say is holy crap. It's got the baddest little lope to it. LOVE IT.
