Has anybody hooked up a Ford 2.0/2.3 four cylinder to a '32-48 Ford V8 transmission? Does the Ford bellhousing match anything (V8, I6) that I can get an adapter for? I have heard of guys putting these engines in front of Model A gearboxes, was there a kit for that? What parts did they use? Thanks, Will Kimble www.kimblemandolins.com
I recently sold my 30 tudor that had a 2.0 bolted to the stock A flywheel cover and mounts, then had a George Butler A to V8 trans adapter, and V8 trans that bolted to the stock A tourque tube. kinda hard to see in this pic.
Awesome, thanks so much for the picture. That is exactly what I want to do to my '30 tudor. So the trick (one of them at least) is to mount the Model A flywheel housing to the back of the 2.0/2.3 block. Is that simply a matter of centering it and drilling holes? Or do you have to machine the back of the flywheel housing? In the picture are there washers between the flywheel housing and the back of the block? I assume you use the 2.0/2.3 flywheel, how about the clutch & pressure plate - is that early V8 stuff? Pilot bearing? Do you have to do anything to the input shaft of the tranny? Stock radiator? How did the front mount look? And how was it to drive??? Thanks, Will
