@BigO nice car. Do you recall how much that was chopped? Looks to be 6" or more?

  9. Not sure, it had about a 2-3" chop when I got the body but later I chopped it some more but that was about 20 years ago and my memory is not that good, never compared it to the orginal stock height.

    Hello,

One of the coolest sedan delivery builds was done in San Diego, CA by (the late) Lee Bright of the San Diego Prowlers. The sedan delivery had the best of the best at the time of the build. The outstanding style and look is what first drew people to admire the low slung sedan delivery. The big/little tire combo just accentuated the California rake style and is just …”prowled” (pun intended) the streets of San Diego and So Cal.

Despite being a “big” guy, Lee Bright fit comfortably inside the chopped sedan delivery, despite the chopped top.

In the aftermath of our Lions Dragstrip accident with our 1940 Willys Coupe, there were lots of: next phase builds and styles of cars mentioned at our bi-monthly family gatherings. Since we originally started out with our first choice in a Model A Coupe, thoughts went back to that style and possible future build.

As it so happened, in 1959, our purchased “field find” Model A was history, as my brother purchased his new, 1958 Impala for the street and drags. So, that memory was fading until we saw this Model A at a huge drag racing event at Riverside Raceway.

Throughout the years as we got older and with our own families, we have talked about getting another Model A to build. It would have the same power train for street driving and possible drags if we needed to go that way. So, now the topic of conversation turned to sedans and sedan delivery models. Even though the whole Model A sedan and sedan delivery was a little short for our long surfboards, we could always put them on top racks. This is what one of the ideas was, a chopped, Model A Sedan Delivery with a SBC/supercharging, and all of the extras for a complete finished daily driver for the brothers.

    My current Banger Coupe
    COUPE 73.jpg

    My prior Sedans and coupes.....
Id have more than one if I had the room.... But suburban life got me all messed up with space... From Bottom to top is the timeline... Built my first model A on the ground, chopped, channeled, just a hotrod...Then did a banger coupe survivor, just was too nice a survivor to do what I wanted to do. Then found this flathead swapped sedan and built it. But always wanted another banger coupe so here we are today. Every one of these cars I have owned did what they were supposed to great and were a blast for sure.
