I've been lurking here for somewhere around three years. Done lots of reading, just never did the intro thing mainly because I never really had anything worthy of posting. Had the itch to build something with a flathead for a long time as my dad raced them around here on the dirt tracks in the fifties. At 86, he is still sharp and I want to get him in on the project. A good friend ends up with a 59A-B and column shift three speed he acquires in some other stuff and he gave me the motor/tranny. Don't have anything to put it in yet, but figured, why not start on a drivetrain first. I'm gonna have some questions that he may not have the answers to, so I thought I had better get through the introduction before I start posting any Qs. I thought I could keep this intro simple, but that went out the window about four sentences back. Sorry for the rant.
