Technical Flywheel removal 1937 Ford 21 Stud

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 1937 Fordor, Jul 7, 2014.

  1. I am going to be changing the clutch on my 1937 Ford with stock 21 stud engine. I want to remove the flywheel and have it resurfaced. When I remove the clutch, will I be able to remove the flywheel with the engine in place? Will I have to remove the whole oil pan? Will I be able to remove the flywheel from the bottom? Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The flywheel cannot be removed without also dropping the oilpan. Some people have been able to do this with the motor still in the car.
