I have goggled myself to tears trying to find out what flexplate would go on a 62/69 2.5 Chevy 4 cylinder. It will have a Powerglide behind it. I think a 168, because I don't think a starter for a 153 would clear the pan.
    Appreciate any clues, Lee

I've been reading lately of more and more cracked flexplates. I don't know the reason, but suspect it has something to do with where they are manufactured and why. Most of the stuff we have access to these days comes from the orient and may not be up to the quality we are used to seeing with American-made products. For those of you who will be purchasing a flexplate, try to find one that is SFI 29.1 certified for drag racing. It will be made of thicker material and may not crack as easily as a plate made from Chinesium for instance.

oh....looked it up in the 1975 chevy parts book. 1962-70, all with Auto Trans, 153 tooth, 3789821 is the part number

same one was used on Six cylinder engines during those years

Thanks for the help. I was only 15 teeth off. Didn't think about looking up parts for the six cylinder.
