I like the Edelbrock, because it's affordable.

    Ron Holleran recommends it also.

The PM-7 may be a neat manifold but its not what we are discussing here-

I run an edelbrock, and that list of makes from the 47 program is rad! I like that spencer wrote 'SEX' where he should have listed his manifold! haha!

The edelbrock came with, and without the Generator mount..I used one without, it makes fan setup a bit harder, but i dig it anyway. seems to perform great, but a comparison test with the navarro would be interesting..

This old Edelbrock super has heat risers and fan mount. Its in the classifieds.

  9. Here is another 2 cents. Are you driving or trying to impress your friends? If you are driving, put on any EVEN spaced 2 carb setup WITH THE HEATED CROSSOVER! You will get better overall response this way. also, you need to match the power valves and DON'T PUT IN THE BIGGEST YOU CAN FIND, 50-60 IS ALL YOU NEED. One more thing. Flatheads dont get rid of gasses very well so don't even bother with a manifold if you don't add headers.

Feel free to talk about other "super dual" type intakes!!!

I just used those three because you can buy them new so they are a little more popular and easy to pick one up.

Doane Spencer used the SEX “Special Experimental” , refering to his dual Navarro manifold that he modified.:D It seems that he split the center port exaust using one cylinder to exaust upward through the enlarged head riser manifold port.

So I got a chance to look over a Offy super dual intake the other day and I was not impressed. The casting was very rough and the machine work looked like it was done with a dull clogged up cutter. I also looked over the ports, how well they are positioned and how much it would take to port out the sharp corners and curves.

After that I had the guy bring out the Edelbrock super dual and WOW! Great casting, machine work and good ports. defiantly worth the cash.

Navarro was a lifelong student of Ford flatheads, and was very meticulous with everything he did. I'm sure that a lot of planning went into his manifold design.

i was originally going to run new casting edelbrock heads on a 0.080 bored block with merc 4" crank, vintage polished edelbrock superdual with 2 94's, isky max 1 cam, malory dizzy and all the dress up stuff. I have changed my intake to a vintage soon to be polished Fenton dual and im going to finish the full polish on the eddy heads and sell them and grab a set of older Fenton heads with the center water necks.
