Are all pcv valves basically the same or do they need to be vehicle specific? I'm putting one on my FR flattie (replaces the draft tube) and it came with an additional in line valve that you can adjust the amount of vacuum it draws. Also, anytime you open up a vacuum source it changes the way an engine runs. Usually speeds it up. Will I have to re adjust my triple carbs after I install it or just the idle?

There's literally hundreds of different PCV valves out there. Find one with a small hose outlet and it shouldn't rob too much vacuum from your engine. What type of distributor are you running with your triple set up?

I just picked one for an engine about the same size as the flathead---I think it was one for a slant six.

Yes you will need to adjust the idle mixture screws and the idle speed. You are adding a controlled vacuum leak.
