In the middle of a 59a flathead rebuild, I must decide if I want adjustable lifters. Who sells good lifters. From what I've read off shore lifters are not as good as the older adjustable Johnston brand.

  2. I think Speedway Motors in Nebraska sells the Johnsons, hopefully ones made in USA.

From what I've heard, NOBODY makes flathead lifters in the US any more. If anybody can prove me wrong, please show us the product.

Does anybody have any opinion on Bob Drakes $140 lifters?

Soft Speedway lifter and ensuing damage to Isky cam lobe after a few hundred miles. "First problem we've ever heard of with those... sorry, you're just out of luck."

Reds are ok , why risk it .
    Just $70 more....

The best are Flatattak from Aussi, but expensive

  10. Just a side note I used to drill an 1/8" hole perpendicular to lifter bore to put a 1/8" punch in to adjust lifter.

Hopefully Reds don't make you wait like the 3 months I've been waiting for some headers:mad:

Mike @ Flatattack no longer makes those lifters. I wish he did

Since I started this thread, I'll give a update.
Speedway won't stand behind lifters they sold,
CGM Motorsports sells Johnson Hy-lift. In a phone conservation, I was told there made in Florida.
Bob Drake salesman told me they make their own.
I ordered a set from CGM, $197 with free shipping.

I did not do this and I was sorry later. The little wrenches don't work very well with a high lift cam.
