Technical Flathead Help Plz... Should I Buy?

    I think that is a smart decision. Unless it's going into a stock car, build it the way you want it and don't settle just because it came across your path.

    They are still out there. You just have to look a little harder now.

    I had a customer bring me a "fresh, rebuilt" flathead he paid a guy to rebuild but couldn't get it to run right. More I dug the worst it got, the rebuild was nothing more the new rings, bearings and a paint job, cylinder walls were heavily pitted, crank was junk, block was broke and filled with silicon. So bad we junked this "rebuilt" motor. all I saved was the heads and exterior parts.
    I dought you could buy a core and rebuild one for $2000 unless your'e able to do the work yourself so this motor could be an OK deal only if you can pull the heads, intake and pan so you can exactly what your getting.
