Wired my 35 the other day but the ampmeter goes to discharge when rpm increase. The cutout is working, I removed the cover and with the out put wire disconnected it pops open when idle and closes with a little rpm's. When I hook up the out put wire to the cutout and rev it up the contacts spark like crazy and the amps go to discharge. I have check all the wiring countless times and I cant find anything wired wrong, what the hell am I doing wrong.

Briefly (fraction of a second) touch a wire from one terminal to the other on the cutout to polarize the thing...it may be polarized backwards now, wich would move output on meter to backward...
Once this issue is killed, we need to clean up your commutator and brushes!
