flathead crankshaft bolt size 8-ba

    going to turn the crankshaft by hand tomorrow to check the fit of the new head i dont seem to have a socket big enough to fit on there so im wondering if anyone knows how big the cranksaft pulley bolt is on an 8-ba? if anyone knows it might save me an EXTRA trip to sears thanks as always

    Mine are 7/8"

  4. Take a deep socket in case it has the "crank" doodad on it.

    Early ones are different and need a deep socket--about '39-48 is 1 1/8", earlier are about 1 3/8". Most of the '40's pulleys require a pretty thin deep socket, too.
