flathead 30* intake valves?

any one here use them? i got a set of 060 o/s 30* valves and seats but the margin is at the outer edge of the valve. i could see how that mite help flow, but im concerned that it mite have a poor seal and be prone to burning. am i being too cautious or is that the proper way to run them?

 

Meaning the edge is sharp like a cut-off wheel?
Or that the seat surface ends at the valve OD?

 

the valve contacts the seat near the edge of the valve. not centered on the face as it should. anyone on the nite crew have any insite on this? somebody musta used them, the tech guy at speedway says they sold over 900 of them.....
