This automobile hasn't been licensed since 1976 and has been sitting in this spot since i picked it up in 2002...

So, here is the deal... A very good friend of mine has told me that he is going to make a 1000 mile round trip to Back to the Fifties next summer in a 4 banger Model "eh"! When i heard that, it has inspired me to take something different down as well, and this it what i came up with...

The plan is to get it completely mechanically sound (brakes, lights, engine and transmission, new BFG Wide-Whites, wind-shield, etc...) and follow my buddy down next June 16th! ...i know it's a four-door, but i figure it should be fun to get it rollin'! Thanks for the much appreciated vote of confidence! Right on, man! It's going to be a bit of work to do, but this is going to be the 16th year that my pals, my brother, and i have gone down to what we consider the best car event on the planet!!! A pact was made in our car club that we would never make the drive in a late model, so it is always a challenge to get something pre-65 running on all eight cylinders to make the trip haha!

It is also an added bonus to suprise our American friends with something different! Gr8 people-Gr8 car show!!

    My '60 Series 62 Coupe - I love it.
I reckon it's just a pure work of art.
The flattop more-door is a slightly more formal version, but they're sisters under the skin.
Good luck with the build and please keep posting up plenty of updates for us to follow.
    Cheers mate.

It isn't a high roof 6-window, and it isn't gonna be white,...but it's still will be a good candidate to have all four tires deflated and shaving cream smeared on the E-Z-EYE glass haha!

I took my '61 Coupe de Ville out after sitting for a few years. Checked brakes, changed oil, new tires (new interior, too)...drove from Detroit to Chicago for a car show. Torrential rains on the way there but nothing slowed me down. Here we are at the Git Down just outside Chicago.

    You can do it!

Just dragged in the remains of a 1960 four door 6 window out of a snow bank. i am going to lift off the engine and transmission and hopefully the block is in good shape. If so, this will be the drivetrain for the Flat-top! ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1455921514.268124.jpg

Not good, but i have another block. It is now a matter of digging it out and getting it into the shop. This project may be postponed till spring... Dang!

  25. Damn shame about that block- still, you can paint it up and put it on the porch and put 8 pot plants in it!
    -Or get it sleeved maybe?
Good luck with the build, I love those flat-tops!

Not too sure whether or not it could be sleeved, but if i'm going to a complete rebuild, i'd prefer starting with a cherry block.

    Thanks alot Hdonlybob !
