Heres some pics from Flat Out Blast #4 just outside Uddevalla in Southern Sweden. Hosted by The A-Bombers. And...it was a blast. Only pre 34 traditional hot rods are allowed at the site. No trailor bitches, no billet crap, only old style hot rods. No exceptions. No vendors either. Just a great relaxed atmosphere. It was great to be a part of the 50 some hotrods blasting trough the swedish woods heading for lunch in Trollhettan. Ill be back for sure.

What's the weather like up there now? All the guys are wearing jackets but the woman in the car is wearing a sun dress with her bare foot out the window. You guys have some great rods up there. Thanks for the pics....

Well. It was May and the daytime temp was around 65 - 70 F. The evenings on the other hand where a bit colder so a bomber jacket was mandatory...for more than one reason I guess.

Very bad ass Swede. You shouldn't have allowed overhead V8s. Go real old school!

He he. Maybe they should, but this event is more old school than any other gatherings Ive seen up here together with the Dusters Time Travel, and it might be too few cars then. I, for instance, couldnt get in there with my 49 caddy mill :D

Great cars, great photos, looks like A-blast! Wish we had more events like that one over here. Trouble here is, everybody says they want that but, when you go and restrict it EVERYBODY pisses and moans!!
I would rather be at and participate in an event with fewer cars that look like your group ANY day.
Thanks so much for posting, and showing us yanks how it's done!!

TRUE!!!! That would also eliminate nailheads. I saw the sbc in one photo and jumped to conclusions and spoke prematurely. Damn it! I hate when that happens.

I get the reliability of a sbc and how it makes our hot rods more long range, but.........

  20. Thanks for the swell pics!
They all look great in my opinion.
You guys know how to do it..................

Yeah. I totally get the aspect of a sbc or any newer engines too. Aspecially in the US with such long distances to get to a show or gathering, and its accepted at the Flat Out Blast too but it MUST be "dressed" to fit. Me, I swear to old engines, but hey. Thats me...and most of my friends too by the way :) Might change my view when I get old ha ha. AND...I have to add: Flat Out Blast have no prizes or give aways. Its all about the friendship and atmosphere really. In fact. All these types of timetrip meetings up here have none, or few prizes. We dont really care about those buckles anyway.

  27. Yes. We "Traditionl Rodders" are a small minority of the total Rod scene here in the U.S. It's surprising (and refreshing) to see such a get-together as this in Sweden! Good on ya' guys!

Outstanding group of traditional cars! SHADE & NO BLACKTOP! I'd like to see more shows like that in the States!
