That's some great artwork Carl. Really looks good on the truck.

  8. Thanks 440 we like it! now to today, finally got the hardblock in and set up...

then set the 4 1/4 crank in for the first time......
Checked the new Scat Rods for clearance and man don't have to do anything to the block, like that idea!

End play could be a little better but I will live with it.......

Anyway now to get them off to be balanced and an extra keyway to the crank, then maybe I can put this puppy together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. Looks good Carl! I think .010" is plenty for end play. If I were a little closer I'd balence it for you for nothin'. ;)

  13. Yea I agree Tim I was hoping for 6-8 but 10 will work

Fenderless: I don't have a scale but they are definatly lighter than the Eagles on my truck and not having to clearance the block for them is a plus to me..........

Roc: Man if the Doll shows up at Eagle I may have to splash on some paint on the digger still don't know ifn I can get the new engine finished by then but who knows, will try.............

  14. Well crank and lower end is off to be balanced, spent the day cleaning up and opening up the ins and outs.........

  17. Hey Carl - looks like you're spending a bit of time behind the ole' die grinder yourself! Looks like it is coming along nicely. Keep up the great work - looking forward to seeing you complete the beast and fire it!

I love how connected you feel to your motor once you've spent some time porting. Nice job. Keep up the progress. :)

Beautiful work! If we make it to Eagle Field we need to race! Two roaring flatheads trying to intimidate each other!

With all the grinding and porting and polishing, I'm surprised your not 4-porting your engine.

    Looks amazing!

  23. Lazaris, Oh I will be at Eagle for sure just may not be there with this engine it her, but we will be there anyway even if we have to run the slug. Don't want to hurry the build and make any mistakes......

B&S, Tim, Skotz, grovedog: yea porting is not my favorite pastime, cannot seem to keep my nose clean, even with the cheap masks, and the bride is pissed at me for washing my hands in the kitchen sink, something about all the new rust spots in the sink, go figure?

  24. Yeah, I know about that. I have a sink in the garage but I always manage to mess something up in the house. The garage is mine but the house is all hers. ;)
