Projects Flat FED build

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by roseville carl, Jan 14, 2010.

  1. Day one, repaired torsion bar suspension, did not work, changed caster from about 50 deg to about 18, shortened C4 and then sat in it and let my mind wander..................

    However; you look right at home sitting in the FED... A bad day in the garage is better than a good day at work...

  10. Kennith the shortened C4 is a kit from Flat-O-Matic cuts 12" off of the C4 and yes eventually the frame will be NHRA legal I hope, Rocky we are on our way!
    it will be powered by what else, a Flathead of course. They say if you live long enough everything comes back in style, guess I've lived long enough livin my dream.............

    Eagle Field is waiting:D

  18. Lippy I'm not happy with it either so that's also on my list to fix, right now I'm waiting for the other half of the coupling to make things final. So much work, so little time, May is approaching........

  19. Great build, I subscribed after the first post...But I gotta say;

    I'm a huge fan of the G.M. HEI. Trouble free, easily serviced, easily tweaked and hot spark... But c'mon man, you really gonna use it on a flathead FED?

    is that blower straight off the detroit? you have to get into some detail when you do that. i have a few kicking around at home from work. i pull em of the engines when ever my company scraps a barge. so i want to do something with them but not too sure how to go about it yet. sweet build
