Day one, repaired torsion bar suspension, did not work, changed caster from about 50 deg to about 18, shortened C4 and then sat in it and let my mind wander..................
However; you look right at home sitting in the FED... A bad day in the garage is better than a good day at work...
Cool! I fell asleep in the car one night. What's that steering box? That thing will be FUN. Tell us more about it. Lippy
Kennith the shortened C4 is a kit from Flat-O-Matic cuts 12" off of the C4 and yes eventually the frame will be NHRA legal I hope, Rocky we are on our way! it will be powered by what else, a Flathead of course. They say if you live long enough everything comes back in style, guess I've lived long enough livin my dream.............
The car looks great Carl. I'm not one who picks on things so don't get me wrong, but about that rear end mount.............
Lippy I'm not happy with it either so that's also on my list to fix, right now I'm waiting for the other half of the coupling to make things final. So much work, so little time, May is approaching........
Great build, I subscribed after the first post...But I gotta say; I'm a huge fan of the G.M. HEI. Trouble free, easily serviced, easily tweaked and hot spark... But c'mon man, you really gonna use it on a flathead FED?
Day seven 1/2 got some gussets welded up on the rear end and new sleeve's through frame for mounting much stouter. Received rest of coupling so now can attack mounting of engine................
I knew I loved slingshots... just didnt know why.. untill I saw how you sit in one God bless the H.A.M.B.
OH SHIT! Things are about to get fun! That is one FED. I would like to try my hands at one some day, maybe just a HA/GR to get my feet wet.
is that blower straight off the detroit? you have to get into some detail when you do that. i have a few kicking around at home from work. i pull em of the engines when ever my company scraps a barge. so i want to do something with them but not too sure how to go about it yet. sweet build
