  3. yeah, and this gate is sooo beat up. there is nothing straight about it and is worn/pitted/ground thin.
think, old celebrity with one too many face lifts. I am not a fan of the block letters and if I start cutting, I may just remove them. I can build a new gate faster and it would be perfect....but not perfect for this truck.
I could cut just the letters out and raise them. I could cut a across the top just below the upper beam, take a section out and then add to the bottom by extending the flange I need to add anyway.
I thought of a strip of the tree across the top to balance it out. I thought of painting a full tree with the roots starting at the bottom, the trunk running between the O and R and the canopy spreading out over the letters.

  4. Thee think too much! Anything you do will look good. Why? Because we are part of the same family.

Any chance you could come up with one of these stamped sections to fill that space? 20210114_114940.jpeg

Rope from the branch to the O tire swing would be overkill I guess.

@tb33anda3rd the 40 ford pickup gate has a tube or tight roll at the bottom and three hole brackets on the aft Box corners for support...You could make it lift off as well...Put a pinned round bar in each end through the hinges you have..I made sides similar to your lighter ones...Looks good...One other thing I did do is move up and chamfer those 2 inward raised vertical bars to match the top...I did notch where the latching is but you are the Artist...How old is the box?...Remember Ed Lloyds Pizza T...:D

A great re-purpose for the Tree Branch Door Service Express

  21. I made up the angles for the perimeter. I had to stretch them to go around the corner. I welded them on with everything clamped to the table. IMG_1594.JPG IMG_1595.JPG IMG_1596.JPG

I missed a few photos but I drilled into the ends of the upper tube and slid the original steel tube back in. I welded the ends up, the cut a couple grooves in the face side. IMG_1602.JPG IMG_1603.JPG IMG_1604.JPG IMG_1605.JPG

  28. I cut a couple grooves in the face side through the sheet metal and into the ends of the pipe. I then cut a couple brackets for the chain hooks. I pounded them in and welded them up. IMG_1606.JPG IMG_1607.JPG IMG_1608.JPG IMG_1609.JPG IMG_1610.JPG
