History five best four doors

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by bubblesbacon, Dec 9, 2013.

  1. I've seen a few 49-52 chevy fleetline 4 doors that were almost acceptable but I like the model A 4 door over a model A 2 door..especially if it's a slammed, full-fender version.

  2. If you're going to include later models, the 2003/2004 Marauder runs circles around the 94/96 Impala SS, both in performance and looks...IMO

Phaetons,38 39 fordor convertibles pretty much all ford mordors are cool.

  4. I like 4 doors generally and would prefer the 4 door version of anything. I am mostly into '30s and '40s vehicles, but I'd love to have a '56 Ford Victoria 4 door hardtop or a '64 Chevy Impala 4 door hardtop.

I forgot about the 56 Victoria. I agree with you. It's a beauty! (not to mention the sound of that Y-block )

I agree about the Caddy. Absolutely gorgeous.

  8. Personally I like the 61 Lincoln Vert best. Then I like the flat top Caddy's and Chev's. Toss in a hard top wagon or two and I'm set.

Some great cars there. What the hell were they thinking of with the Aston Martin Lagonda - undeniably the ugliest Aston ever.

Can't go wrong with a Continental, Eldorado Brougham, Hudson, Merc, Cord, dual cowl phaeton, Silver Arrow, or Tucker. You've got a better chance of finding a Tucker or Silver Arrow than you do a 1937 Cadillac 90 Series dual cowl phaeton.

Couldn't find a picture of it, but the Pitmann-Edwards 41 Willys 4-door gasser always stood out, saw it run at Lions, San Fernando, etc, bright orange, blown Olds, ran hard!

  18. I'm gonna have to cast my vote to the Hudson. I am little biased though.

Lots of good choices, I would like to add the 1964 Chrysler. After years of gaudy tail fins and weirdness they came out with this sophisticated beauty. The style picked up by BMW 10 to 20 years later.

This car has 88,500 driven hot rod miles and still wows the crowds away from the mega-buck gold chainer cars!

X3 on the 56 victoria as one of my top picks also, 62 chevys just look rite in a 4 door and I also like this 60 along with many others.
I also genrally like 4 door wagons better than the 2 door versions.
