I don't know how I missed this, but I'm subscribed now
I suck at keeping things updated. I got it on the road last week! Such a blast
Drove it all over the northland and stopped at a buddy's house to show his father.
I don't get on the HAMB much any more but I'm glad I subscribed to this build. Congrats, turned out awesome!!! I bet it's a blast to drive...it's been some perfect fall weather in KC lately to cruise around in an open rod like that. I'm sure you get many a looks.
It's funny watching people freak out about it. Couldn't ask for better weather
Holy shit man looks great! Love the belly burners!
Awesome Milestone @Inked Monkey and yes the Fall Color and The Hotrod...priceless

Caught up. Man you gotta make it south so I can check this out before winter! Love it.
@Austin kays you’ll dig this too
Looks great! Well done, thanks for the update.
Man this thing came out great!
Tailgates are not cheap! So I made one and skinned it with old jerry cans. It's not perfect but it'll do. Hey it's a jalopy right?
Bent up a hook from some 3/8 rod
50 degrees out in KC today, so I got to play a little. Plus you can see the Chevy hood sides that I added.
Tailgate looks great! You are a smart mf-er!
Looks great and you look happy and that's what really counts!! Hope you put sleeves on your chains or they will beat he crap out of those nice tail lights. JW
Thanks man, it sure is fun. I didn't think about the chains hitting the lights! Good call, I'll check the clearance.
Love the homemade tailgate and chains!! nicely done
good job . any time I can build I do . just is better than store bought
So glad you got the roadster body. Looks like fun. And you fab your ass off. "Helps to be broke."...lol. Love the hinges...and everything else you cut and stuck back together. Inspiring. Thanks, IM!
Looks like a worthy grocery getter to me
Great job! Love the tailgate.
Just found this thread! (Thanks @Tim!) I really like the way you’ve built it like it would have been built “back in the day”.
Thanks @brEad Kinda enjoyed having the budget dictate the build
Nice job! Looks like a blast!
Canvas tubes work good on thee tailgate chains, but old bicycle inner tubes work well too.
