Hot Rods First drive down the street...always a thrill...will I make it home?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by mrharley51, Apr 2, 2019.

  1. Took the 36 out of the garage and drove it down the block for the first time...Always a little scary driving something that you gave birth to in your garage and now take it out into traffic to do battle with the other vehicles operating the highways and byways...a short ride today, maybe a little longer next time. Shakedown rides are always interesting...leaks, brakes, steering,..bumps...hoping all things stay attached and you make it home without calling out the "hook". Paint is PPG B/C Midnight Blue Regatta…"Washington Blue" says the numbers on the can. Sure photos weird. Sometimes dark some times light...https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/media/albums/1936-ford-pickup-project.46057/

Looks good! It looks like you lost your fenders. I think I would just leave them off. ;)

Love the detail at the bottom of the box in front of the rear tires. Very well done truck. Time to enjoy the crap out of it!

As the wise Kiwi sage Bear said (RIP) stance is everything. And you nailed it with restraint completing a winning ride any one would be proud to say i built this.

Sweet ride! Always take your cell phone with you when shaking down a new ride! That way, you can call Momma and fall on your sword and beg for her help!

  29. I took my '59 Ford out late one night, no plates, no exhaust.... once around the block and I was stressed that it would not make it home. Glad your maiden voyage went well.
