Curious what Rim width people are running with these? i know they recommend a 6"-8" but has anyone mounted them to an original 40 ford wheel (16x4.5)? if so do you have any pictures. I am trying to decide between a 16x4.4 or a 16x6 wheel. I know the 16x6 wold probably be the safer route but i like the skinnier look that i see in some pictures. Picture of both would be VERY helpful.

I really like this setup but cant find what he is running. [IMG]

i dont like this look as much

I mounted mine on 7's so the contact surface stayed flatter.

This 890-16 is mounted on a 16x5 Rocket Solid wheel. It should be fine on a 16x4.5, but it might create a "crowned" tread. The crown and the bulged sidewall looks cool (in my opinion) but it may cause some instability. It's a tall sidewall, and not much contact patch (when the tread is crowned like that) so it might feel a little squirrely on the highway. Firestone-Dirt-Track-890-16 copy.jpg

A 6" wheel will allow the sidewall to work properly and keep the tread flatter for good tire wear and traction.
