Went to the Fire Muster that is held every year in downtown Morro Bay this weekend. Had a great time, thought I'd share the pics I took. http://picasaweb.google.com/1950PLY/FiretrucksMB2007 -Troy
Thanks for the link. I used to have a 1928 American LaFrance on a GMC chassis. I've thought a few times recently about painting my A pickup red and doing a little gold leaf striping on it. Not a 'theme' rod but just kind of a nod to my years as a firefighter.
Hey Troy, missed ya at the MB car show, AND the fire muster? Are you trying to avoid me or what Ya know, they were camped at the school/park, at Dunes and Shasta, I live 5 house's south of there, on Dunes, 447 to be exact. You should stop by some time, it's not like ya live very far dude, geez Just messing with ya, but, feel free to stop by anytime. Eric
Woohoo! there's some of my deparments antique engines. the GMC that says Sonora on the hood & four pics above it is the Moreland Hose/chemical wagon. (the one with the Black tanks behind the seat & big spotlight in the middle of the cowl, has SFD on the hood). Both are original to the department & we have 3 more original antique engines. The Handpumper, a 30's white and a 52 GMC
Thanks for the pics! Our department has a 1926 Lafrance and a 1928 Studabaker that I get to work on while I'm on shift. The Lafrance is really cool! Inline 6 ,700 some odd cubic inch , dual ignition (mag and coil), aluminum crankcase, aluminum intake...It's kinda like a factory hot rod!
That sounds alot like ours. Ours is a '28 though. It's lots of fun to drive, I just hope the chain final drive stays together.
