finned valve cover problems

I just recived a set of vintage speed valve covers and they are to short, i mean i think that they are hitting the rocker arms. This motor is in the early to mid 70s. Just wondering if anyone could help me out whit my problem. I do want to run finned covers but just need some of your input

 

You will need a spacer between the rocker cover and the head.

Try turning them 180 degrees.
