We are talking about the seats, right? Because I've never seen flat black seats before.

"Brave" because if I put white seats in my car I'd probably mess them up in the first week.

  3. Yeah...been there....light colored carpet and seats don't mesh well with guys who actually work on their cars and drive them.

I had a '74 TA that had white vinyl seats. It wasn't anything special to keep clean, pretty easy actually and I never made any special effort to not get it dirty. But, that is vinyl, not leather. Not sure what your material is, but if not actual leather (looks like it might be though), it probably won't be too hard to keep pretty clean.

You should have let them have it a couple more to get the wrinkles out. :D

I can't even walk by a car with a white interior without getting it dirty, but it sure looks nice in a show car or when it's are new. Good luck and keep the cleaning supplies handy.

I had pale grey leather in a 4 door car. Took a trip to the tire shop to get a set mounted, etc. The trunk was full, so I stood up two tires on the floor of the back seat area. Left PERMANENT black tread marks on the leather.

At the risk of sounding like a jerk,

I DO work on my own car and drive it daily!!!!!!!!

    This is my first project.

The only other person who has worked on any part of it was the upholsterer.

Its vinyl, and I have a 5 year old and 1 year old (who love to go for a cruise), so Im either brave or stupid:eek:

  14. ^didn't intend to sound like one either. I figured this was your work.

I had light grey carpet and upholstererey in my ride originally and from workin on it and driving it tons the inside started looking shabby inside a little prematurely. Next time around I'm going to make it as low maintenance as possible (thinkin rubber floors next time around definitely....still thinkin on the seats).

    didnt figure you were:)

Ive actually been driving it with army canvas covers and a rubber floor! I'm just now getting to the point where I can afford to finish the interior.
When and if I do get this one done, im gonna build a trad. A bare bones, low maintenance.

Thanks for all the positive replies!

Never would have gotten this far without the HAMB!!!!!!!!!

So... how cheap is cheap? I love the seats and the fact that they are thin.

Looks great! But I gotta go with what he said... I had my white with orange piping seat in the Plymouth for exactly one year before it started looking pretty scongy! Also, do not cover it with a mexican blanket or anything with a strong color to it. Mine turned bright pink after a short time trying to protect it!

My Dad was in the upholstery business in the 60's. Rolled and pleated was the hot ticket. I didn't inherit his skills but I still do my own work. Upholstery is like painting, everything depends on the foundation. Your seats look first class.

Your seats look awesome. I would call you very brave for that choice in color with two young children.

Well, Ive had them in for a few months now, and they are holding up nicely (so far).
Ive even had the kids spill a drink or two on them, modern vinyl seems to be pretty tuff stuff...

We remove the back seats from our trucks to make room for tools and parts :D, so I have a few left to use...

You would loose all of you skin graft material in the summer if you did that.

You would get up and your skin off your ass would stay there.
