Not sure if he made the body or if he was the one to sell it. Thanks for listing that image. It appears Rusty's are no longer in that area.

I got the floor trimmed and fit in place. Also I started fitting the inner door skins ... Little shaving and they seemed to slip right in . Tomorrow will be glassing the floor solid with a nice thin oak floor support. And also starting hinge brackets and door frame structure. Simple stuff!! I decided I didn't like the 5 inch channel .. So since the floor wasnt glasses in, I decided to raise it up. It's now channeled 3 inched. I clamped everything in place, and put the first layer of ultra thick matting and resin in place. Man is it thick! But I worked all the air pockets out and it hardened very well! So now the body is mounted in its correct location. When I got it I had no clue where it was supposed to go. I just did the typical tire center in rear wheel opening. It looks good. By no means am I fiberglass expert! I used to help a guy build boats and canoes but that's a whole different ball game. I did three layers off matting and glass all together . That will ensure with frame flex that it will stay together. On top of the steel inner structure it will be fine. One thing that I'm trying to figure out is how to use is the factory splash aprons with the body being channeled... Hmmm here is a few progress pics

Now you'll be able to pull up on either side of the gas pump, too.

hotrodderhaag, watch how much resin you leave over your matt or cloth....
see how dry looking the inside of your body is, that's what you want yours to look like..it's much stronger with just enough resin to soak into the matt or cloth....resin cracks like glass.

I tried a new technique for glassing. It worked sooooo much Better. The resign is not piled on and the fiber is alot thicker and lays flatter. Perfect. I got one rocker panel glassed in. Cardboard and wax paper, courtesy of the wife, make a good non stick backing plate . It came out very well! ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1374545308.025882.jpg

Also I got my grill today. Found it on Craigslist.cheap! It's not an original one. It's a glass one with a billet insert. But it will work for now till I find an original that's not trashed and I my price range

I finished all the glass work today. 3 layers of glass on every seam. The shell is now fully enclosed other than a trans tunnel . I'm actually purchasing a pre maid glass one and ill glue it in. I also final fit the filler neck I'm. I made a plate for the underside just to make sure it's sturdy and doesn't crack anything from vibrations . Just some insurance . I started to shave the inner doors skins to fit the shell. It's coming..... Few more days and ill have the shell wrapped up hopefully .

I know ... Pics of fiberglass look terrible, but it turned out really good and smooth. I will have to spray some 2k sealer on it to show the good view

I finally finished all the glass work on the floor. I also got the excess material in the trunk trimmed out, deck lid all fit. Both inners for the doors are done. Tomorrow I will be plasma cutting hinge brackets and getting them glassed in and the outter skins on the doors and deck lid. It's starting to come together

Nice find, nice Shell and gonna be a nice car!

If you take enough care of the details, it won't look like a kit car, more then a few people did it in her.

There was a guy with a 32 coupe that got stolen, an of course the always perfect car; a 41 willys coupe build by Langly.
So please go make the whole HAMB proud !

Today didnt go so well on the 34. I made the steel door jam brackets , and all the inner door plates to make the. Look and feel like a real door when they close... I installed them and glassed them in..
So I moved onto the deck lid after that . I Carefully shaved it to fit. Cleaned the inner and outter up, and began to bond them together. I placed about 30 clamps around its perimeter... The glue cured and I un-clamped it... It fell apart like I never glued it.... So I had to strip it all off and tomorrow I'm finding a new type of bonding material to use ...
