Congrats Bob! Hell yeah! IMHO, you have the best of both worlds: a chopped 33/34 and a hammered Merc! Looks to be about a 4" chop (just right).
I see a trip to El Mirage and Bonneville in your future!

I remember seeing the car built.. "Porkchop" did good on this one.. I think he put a 4 cyl. in it to drive it to "Bonneville" form Ohio a few years ago then switched the engine back to a V8....

  9. It's tight, cause it's channeled so much, and chopped. But there's plenty of leg room. I have to adjust the seat location and angle, after i recover it.

  11. I wanted to drive it to Bonneville this year, but looks like that won't happen. It will be driven to EVERY El Mirage event!!! I don't know the height of an unchopped Coupe, so I can't figuire how much it's actually chopped. Anybody know the height on an unchopped window?

  12. Do you know about when it was first built! One guy told me 40yrs ago. Think that's wrong.

I'm happy for you, great looking car. Do you still have the pickup?

  15. Funny, everybody asks me if I will take the 666 off it. HELL NO! That's the first thing that caught my eye, haha I'm not a supersticious person, so the number means nothing to me. Funnt story...I took my buddy for a ride and it broke down right in front of the church on the corner! Still had the manger set up. He got a photo, haha. I'm just trying to make it more user friendly, safe, and have everything work. I took it to Jimmy White's shop, Circle City Hotrods, in Orange, and had him look it over. I trust his opinion. He pointed out a few things, so i'm working on that stuff. Nothing major. Needs a dual mastercylinder and not sure what I will do about the clutch yet. Don't like hydrolic clutches!

  17. Hope so...No room. I always sleep in my car. I want to drive the Coupe at least once, then I will be taking my Sportsmobile Van. Has all the do-dads.

I would say it was built somewhere around 2000-2005... He had a shop in Lewisburg, Ohio and I lived close to there at the time and was a member(for a short time) of a club he used to be in.. I remember seeing the body when he first got it and watched the progress on the frame.. He was a welder before he started his hot rod shop.. He only had the shop for about 5 years and don't know what happened to him after that....

  20. I didn't notice that much, til I saw this pic from Conrad. Just look at the difference between the top of the tire and the top of the grill. It also has no drop axle.

  21. Happy now!!! haha

Yes do away with the hydraulic clutch and go automatic so I can get the 4 speed off you:D. Very cool car. Love it when a car just has that hot rod look. Perfecto.
