Hot Rods Finally! A warm day

Last night we had a little thunder, some lightning and lotsa rain. This is good! Washed all the salt and chemicals off the roads and streets. I pumped up all the low tires on the 34 coupe and checked fluids. Oops! Just about outta gas so I fired up the motor and it smoked pretty bad. It's from last fall when I suffered a ruptured fuel pump diaphragm.....filled the crankcase with gasoline and before I discovered it, the cylinder walls had damage .
Today I fired the engine up after changing the plugs and opening up the plug gaps to .045"....drove it down to the gas station for some hi-buck premium with no ethanol. The engine smoked a LOT less on the way home. I got a bunch of thumbs-up. I blew out the carbon on the long straight stretch and man alive! The little 370 Poncho pulled like a freight train! I've missed driving my little coupe for about 5 months!! Life is good. Now I gotta get it all cleaned up for the world of wheels show this weekend. Never have I entered any of my cars in a show. Lookin forward to it.

 

Good luck in the show. Maybe there will be some judges who know what a real Hot Rod is.

You're jealous? YOUR JEALOUS???? Dave, I've lived in San Diego a couple times. I KNOW what the weather is in SoCal. I'm dodging snow piles up in here--picking the lane with the less gravel and slush in it....slathering POR 15 on the bottoms of my doors on my daily driver so they'll live one more year! If anybody should be jealous, it's me! I really miss soCal weather. Chula Vista, National City, Lajolla, I even miss ElCajon. It;s ok....pretty soon the weather here will be in the 90s with 80% humidity.

 

HAHAHAHAA...I was talking about your rod. But since you brought it up, here is a memory of SoCal for you...

Sweet car! I'm probably 6-8 weeks away from even getting out onto my asphalt driveway with any of the fun cars. Jealous!
