Dropping a 390 into a 58 Edsel and buddys shop. Having brain fade, Mounts we got only havre one stud. Mounts are C ahape. Does the open side go forward or back. Car had no engine when he got it and doner engine is out of 69 Galaxie with new type mounts. It looks like the left side mount will hit the left manifold ( have no ides what manifold came off of) if we put the open end forward. Wrong manifold????
58 Should be 2 stud mount. It goes in with C facing firewall. At least they do in my car. Here is a photo while I was building headers. 59 was first year for single stud as far as I know. The Wizzard
Here is a shot of the single stud mounts in my '62 Merc. The C faces backwards. I don't know if they are the same as your Edsel though. Good Luck.
