The 59s are just so fat looking. I know that regular 59s are icons and widely loved but they're just so ridiculously over the top, the 60s are elegant.

  8. My grandpa was in the habit of buying a two or three year old Cadillac every couple years. In about 62 or so he didn't know what to do because he said no way he wanted a 59 w the giant wings. He held out till a 62 was used enough to buy. Then around 83 or 84 he got an Eldorado with the imploding diesel 350. He was so pissed at that car he never bought another Cad. That was when he became a Lincoln man. Later found out that particular eldo burned up its first engine on the drive home from the dealership (had about 150 miles on it) Grandpa put a gas Olds 350 in it and sent it down the road.

I really like the fastback / sedanette myself but could see myself behind the wheel of most from post war to early 60s

    Currently building a '46 Convertible. But have a '50 and a '60 stashed also.

  13. I have a 57 Coupe(my avatar)
    I have a 60 Coupe too.
    And a 62 convertible.
Not bragging--I just have come to love Cadillacs.
Had a 62 Coupe, and sold it to Bobwop(who sold it twice!) I liked that car, because my Dad gave me his 62 Sedan when I was 15(and I traded it for a VW:eek:) and I always wanted to know what I missed out on.
I did a mild custom 49 Sedanette for a customer/old friend a few years ago, and he gave me the engine. It's going in my 29 roadster. 2x2 and 3 speed.
Have another friend who inherited a 38 LaSalle coupe, and I'm in line when it's sold.
The only other Cadillac that glazes my eyes over is a 67 Eldo.....Lord help me...

I have a weakness for '66 Coupe De Villes, no other year strikes my fancy like a '66.

I like a lot of the 40s and 50s models, but my all time favorite has to be a red '59 convertible. I'm sure it isn't the only movie where one got trashed but, it was sure hard to watch "3000 miles to Graceland" when they put the '59 in the drink!

That's a tuff one, I like most years, but, 48-49 Sedanettes and the 58 Coupe De Villes are my favorites. My Dad was a Cadillac man and I grew up with one in the driveway most of the time.

    61 is my favorite
48 love the side view of this
58 overall nice balance of chrome and style.

but if I could build a 59 station wagon it might change my mind.
