Father & Son 26 Dodge Build

This started as a 1926 Dodge Brothers 4 Door Sedan. (3) Owners ago, the guy cut it up to make a street rod out of it. He got rid of the front doors planning on just using the rear suicide ones. He passed away and his grandson got the car. The grandson left it in a field for YEARS letting cows and Mother Nature play with it. Another guy bought the car and planed on making a street rod using an old Pinto he had as the donor for the drive train and suspension! Lucky for the car he ran into money problems and I got it from him.
Its a lot of work, but will all be worth it in the end.

Here's a couple shots of us clamping up the body. Also got a couple fork truck seat frames we are planing to use, just set in to get an idea

I had a 1926 Dodge 4 door I made a street rod out of. They have a very heavy frame, it make a good street rod.
Also had a 1927 Dodge 4 door that I restored back to original. It was a nice car also.
How about a 1928 Essex 2 door street rod, we have one of those.

I really dont know what the car should look like.
You are certainly right about the car being heavy, very solid car. Im sure thats to credit for it still being here to play with

Hell yeah, The side shot show some good lines with the rear wheel well and door area. I think it will be bad-ass.

We got the body together and welded up! Added supports then cut-out for the axle to fit up into the body.
Its looking like a car now.

Looks like you got some good work goin on there. I dig the rendering of the car it's goin to look bad-ass. I also dig working with my son's it's a great thing to do together and there some good learning to be had by all.

We took the car over to my sons house, blocked it up and set the engine in front of it.
You know, just trying to see how it will look.

Thank you LZ, but I just picked up all the steel for the frame last night.
We had the frame rails laser cut so we could weld round tubing into it
I'll try to get some pics up soon.

Thanks for all the comments. Flatoz, yes beer may be a problem, my son works for Budweiser so we always have some around.
As for the Hemi, they are getting harder to find, but still out there if youre willing to dig one up.

We have out of town guest visiting for the next three weeks!

So, progress is pretty slow.
I did manage to get the front frame rails started. Hope to finish boxing them in tonight.

My son works with and supplies the beer, I work with and supply the metal

I did sneak off for a couple hours last night and got my fill plates to box the frame in cut. I also made a new part to send to the laser cutter for our visor. Then I got the rear and cab sections tacked together.
