Does anyone have any pics of a Model A, roadster especially, with a 35-40 Ford dash installed? I have seen this done from time to time on 32-34, particularly using a 40 dash. A lot of cutting, fitting and general fooling around to get it done for sure. Trying to visualize what it could look like. Thanks

I think @flatout51 has a 40 dash in his roadster at the moment

I traded this sedan body for my roadster body but I planned to just fill the old dash bolt holes and paint

  8. That big 46-48 tiller looks good in there with the 40 dash- the added diameter would also make the steering easier-do you find it a little tight to the drivers door when trying to turn?

Not at all. It fit super nice. The column shift 3 speed cleared up a ton of leg/knee room too!

We did not allow when fitted 36 dash to a 28 . On pondering the dilemma we realise ford had planned this swap in 28 and all we had to do was swap left regulator to the right door a right to the left and put the in the corresponding factory holes at the rear of the door. And fitted 37 type door remote handle to the new bear claws.

  11. I had a '64 VW dash (they have fat fenders) in my '30 Ford Coupe and as small as they are I still had to 2"s off each end to fit in the '30, and I installed a '37 Ford Speedo in place of the orginal and a '40s radio face in place of the orginal and very few could figure out what the dash was out of and most loved it. How come everyone is showing pictures of dashes in closed cars when he asked how it looks like on a roadster? Incidentally, I have a '40 dash in my coupe too. Scan-191215-0001.jpg Scan-191215-0002.jpg

My '31"A" roadster already had received a '35 Ford dash with a hole for a '55 Ford radio and SW gauges (tach, speedo, volts fuel, temp, and oil pressure). The glove box door and hinges are there but only the holes for door handle and the "V8" script. Someday I'll get on my mill and machine out a handle to fit, and hopefully find a V8 emblem. Wish now I had filled that hole for the radio, as there's no way you could hear it with the pipes I've got if it's running:), haven't bothered to hook it up or mount speakers:eek: Also has banjo steering wheel, cut down to a smaller diameter. Ether here on HAMB sectioned and chopped the panel and fitted it in before I bought the car. Will try to get him to come on this thread and relate what it took to do it.
Will get a pic up on this thread asap, as the car is locked up in my son's car and he and family are out of town. Called him and he is going to get a pic and email it to me and I'll post it when I get it.
