Any suggestions on how to clean up factory aluminum heads and a possible coating?
Glass bead it. Don't use regular sand. It will look like it was freshly cast.
Watch the first 4 to 5 minutes of this video, they get parts vapor blasted. Looks like glass beading with water.
Years ago, I spent a couple weeks polishing the living crap (Dremel tool) out of a set of these heads and they came out beautiful. Used them on the flathead in my '46 Ford PU...it really dressed up that motor
. I'll try to find a pic.
I love those polished Canadian heads. And I don't mean bald dudes from BC!
Vapor blasting. Bound to happen, normally following in 'phaseology'.
Have them tumbled. They come out looking awesome!
Bald dudes from Alberta look better
Walnut shells work better than glass beads.
I knew it was just a matter of time
Those 49 style are rare as hell! Only made for a few months in 49.
I have a set on my hot Rod Early style 36 and prior.
Slowly coming together. Not sure when the lock down ends but will be going real soon.

Ontario is where you find the real good looking ones.
Hi there, Would they possibly be for sale? Or any chance you have a spare passenger side one?
I have the driver side one but would be willing to purchase a set if needed
