I've searched, but cannot seem to find pics or measurments to pie or wedgecut the hood on my 56 F100. Nothing to radical as rest of truck is stock at this point. I'm thinking about 1 1/2'' but not sure . Thanks in advance.

Not a Ford, a Chevy, but here are pix of how I did mine. In the 1st picture, I cut along the upper line. Then used the "excess" metal to recreate the desired hood shape. Hope these help.

I don't think the negative comments are really needed. I think it's all up to the owner and if he enjoys it.

THEKID49, that is some nice work.

Well thought out balance to the chop, the hood, and grille opening. Whether a viewer would want it done to their own or not, any car guy/gal would be impressed with the workmanship, seems to me.

My reason for wanting to look at the pie cuts is not to critique. I am looking for ideas from mild to wild to see what will work in my mind. I dont mind looking at the AD chevy's since my son has one. Bring them all on.

Just my personal opinion but less can be more. Alot of work for the effect but a mild 1/2" - 3/4" might be just enough for people to scratch their heads and wonder what was done to get the look right.

My cut will be somewhere around a 1''. I'm going for subtle, but I like looking at the others.

Not an F100 but an AD....also not a pie cut, rather a section...

Photographically speaking it's pretty much all there....2.5" section....should be the same theory in a pie cut.

My Build thread (hood is about midway down the page.)

Here's a picture of my '56 back in 1980 parked next to my buddies '31 roadster. If you get your truck low enough you might not need to pie cut it. Mine ran a Volarie front end and this was its ride height.I wish I had kept that truck....Click picture to enlarge..Mike

I had a friend pie cut the hood on my 55 F-100 a couple of years ago. I love the look it gave it and I can now see about 2 to 3 feet more in front of the truck than I could. Looking at it from the driver's seat is amazing!!
