extra long stud for buick brakes where to buy

    Anyone know the best place to buy the extra long studs for Ford hubs that fit the Buick brake drums?i want somewhere reliable ...............Marq

    Reliable would be grade 8 bolts, 1/2-20x1 1/2 inches long welded to an inside flange. I do not trust a stud pulled into aluminum.
     
  4. The solution sorta depends on what you are doing. If you are using hubs inside the drum, then press in studs with the correct drilled hole size is fine. If you are mountin the hubs on the outside, you could tap the hubs and fabricate some steel backers for the inside of the drum so the grade 8's don't chew into the aluminum. You could use press in studs in the second solution too but you just need to make sure that the serrations are long enough.
