Hot Rods Exhaust System Resonators

Have any of you found or are using resonators on your exhaust system that actually work well to reduce resonance? Many brands seem to talk about their performance but they fall short in real-world application. I'm looking for something that would fit on a 2.5" exhaust system, not longer that 18" and preferably, small in outside diameter due to space constraints.

I am using Vibrant brand components on my exhaust system and am very pleased with the sound. My system is all stainless, the mufflers are oval, about the size of a Corvair turbo muffler, behind them I installed “bottle”resonators.
The sound is very throaty, not loud, and no “school bus” raping. Exactly what I wanted.
