Ever sold a car that you regret selling?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by spydey, Mar 4, 2011.

  1. the 57 in my avatar should have never sold it I miss it every day

  2. '65 fastback mustang GT with a built 289, saginaw 4-speed, pony interior, shelby quarter windows and brake scoops, and GT350 hood scoop. Wimbledon White. No stripes. Had 4-wheel disc brakes and a really nice, clean look. Was my semi-daily driver for almost three years, ripping through Mullholland pass between SFV and Brentwood. The only L.A. commute I ever loved. Car went to a good home and I embarked upon a custom '65 Riviera. My nailhead era. No regrets. But I do miss that car.

Never! I've never sold a car. But I've crashed a few that forced me to junk them.

Every car I ever bought was one I really wanted, and should have never sold any of them; but the best were my bought new 70 340 Dart, my 72 Nova SS also bought new, my ex-Navy 58 Chevy PU truck with a 55 4 barrel 265, my two 56 Chevrolet 150 Business Coupe bracket cars, my 120" WB FED, my 210" WB Super Comp RED, my 82 Chevette bought new college car, and ALL my Sedan Deliveries (3 56's and a 57; still have 2 56's). And those were just the important ones. Butch/56sedandelivery.

man i get sick when i think of the cars i let go and for no real reason. 49 ford flathead 3 speed on the floor.loved that damn car. sold it cause the girl i was dating wanted me to geta car with a heater. sold the car and dumped her ass a week later, because i let her talk me into it.66 olds cutlass with a 455 it bought out of a big 70 olds. 4speed 410 in the rear. fast very fast. my beloved 55 210.highly built 327 4 speed 411 outback. flip frontend. spent 2yrs builing that car.kept it for 11 yrs. moved from tn. to chicago then to alabama and took it with me all the way.didnt have a shop or a building to park it in and with all the chrome on the engine i couldnt stand for it sit outside and rust. i spent atleast a day a week polishing and trying to keep it clean. got tired and sold it for 2800. in 88 and that about 10,000 less than i had in it.i have no idea why i let it go so cheap.but i cried like a baby when they hauled it off.

I love that pic of the 57, I've actually had it saved on my computer for a while now. Do you have any other pictures of that car by chance?

51 Ford 2 door Tutor. 350 SBC 350 turbo trans. Love the car! Car didn't seem to like me as much. Tried to kill me a few times. But that's what I get for naming a car Mori I guess. Miss that car though.

  24. Yea, I shouldn't have sold my first car that I got when I was 12. It was a 67 RS/SS Camaro convertible that was a father and son restoration project. We brought it home on a trailer and a couple of pickup loads... and I sold it when I was 17 before I ever even completely got it on the road. We still needed to put the top on and put exhaust on it when I sold it. I only drove it once around the neighborhood.

Not only would it be worth quite a bit now, it had lots of sentimental value since I spent time with my dad doing it.

    My first thought was "DUH".
I won't bother to make a list but I hope this is a lesson to everyone.

DON"T SELL A CAR BECAUSE YOUR MATE WANTS YOU TOO!
They will be too soon gone and you can't get the car back.
