Way back in 1961 I installed a 58 283 4V in my 48 coupe using Honest Charlies adapters while I was in the A/F, 0riginal 3 spd and rear held up fine and I sort of beat the shit out of it, later sold to BIL and he hammered on it some more and he resold it still with original running gear, you will be fine if the stuff is in good shape to begin with. Happy motoring!! Ralphie

    Really neat car.

At first sight, I thought maybe the interior had been dyed. While most wouldn't use that material now, I think it's part of that car's charm and it looks to be in good shape.

I caught that, still it's a pretty particular design. One that fits your car well.

Took it out for the first time today ! Minor issues with brakes. Pulls to the right. Slight clicking once per wheel revolution on right front. Also when turning right it sounds like brakes grinding when not braking ? Wheel bearing and cracked drum ? I really can't investigate because of recent double hernia surgery. All in all, am very happy with the car. It does pop out of 2nd gear upon deceleration. But I'm a happy camper !

Probably depends on how you drive it. I had 5 39 Ford three speeds in my 47 Ford with a warmed up 303 Olds when I was in high school.
