The Corvair and the Packard sure catch the eye! Both are pretty decent looking! That Cornbinder ambulance is cool, too! Did this auction happen already, or is it upcoming? You did mention "preview"!
Not sure of the year exactly, but it has an all orig. (appearing) six. The guy said it ran. Last registered in late 90's. Body was straight, from what I saw.
The Corvair was last registered in '73 or '74. The only thing I saw that was wrong with it was the driver's vent window glass was busted out (lost keys?). The body was perfect. The Packard appeared to have fresh paint and all the trim was inside the car. Funny thing is I bought a '51/'52 Packard grille at another estate sale a couple of weeks before. The ambulance was nearly perfect, (I think he was asking $15,000 for it). The sale is supposed to be July 24th weekend, but he had it posted on CL early. My mind was blown, this guy has tons of stuff, even fire trucks!
Wow... any information on that chevy ton truck? I don't have a place for it, but it is on 'my list'. Just curious. -W
Cool stuff! I'd love to have that Packard. And that F100. And that ambulance. And that 1 ton Chevy. And the Sponge Bob generator. And....... Crap. I'd better just stay away from that auction.
What I wanna know is.... how a state with a bunch of ten gallon hat wearin goat roapers ended up with so much cool stuff in it. Every time I turn around there is another thread from a dude from Texas sayin look another cool shit from Texas thread.
That's easy to explain cubic dollars gets you lots of toys. What are you in the market for? We plan to thin down our herd buy a few head.
All I can tell you is that everything is for sale or will be in the coming weeks/months. The guy running the sale is named Chris and his number is 832.725.6631. He'll be able to find out how much the owners want for this stuff. You can also search CL/Houston by putting in 'Estate/Montgomery' for more details. We were there for 2 hours and didn't see nearly all of it. The pics I posted are just about all of the cars/trucks that I saw. The guy is checking the 'going rate' for different things, so don't expect to get a steal. For example, the are probably 100 or so Schwinn and other bikes in various conditions (all have been left outside for years), minimum price $35.00, which I though was a little steep for most of them.
The guy did say that he would be listing them as soon as he figured out what they were "worth". He told me that someone offered him $12K just for the siren on the ambulance, but they wouldn't buy the whole car! The owner wanted to keep it all together, not part it out. Seemed like he told me $15K for the ambulance, but he wasn't sure. I figured $15K was a good price, it was pretty nice inside and out, supposedly it runs great.
