Engine vs Motor

Or a motor can be driven by HYDRAULICS.

I don't have any of the above......I have a PONTIAC.

I must have a hybrid in my truck, its motor has an engine block.

 

I know engine is technically correct, but rat engine and mouse engine just doesn't sound right to me. People calling an engine a motor used to bother me, too, about 30 years ago. But I got over it.

 

An engine is a type of motor.

So both are correct when referring to an internal combustion "unit". I'm an Ohio hillbilly and a dirt tracker so all of my cars have motors. Besides, who am I to argue with King Richard?.....

Whaddya mean? Needs a Hobby? Hes got one finding out what motor is in every language in the world. Heres one for the list. long, long before some fool put a 30in set of wheels on a family sedan and called it a Donk, the term was an Aussy slang word for motor or engine!

Oh, and a big guy that could take a punch and was used in place of a gun............
