Enclosed Parts Hauling Now From Florida To Ohio To Indiana To Chicago - Then Car Hauling Available

Discussion in 'The H.A.M.B. O'Dex' started by trulyvintage, Jan 14, 2022.

  1. I don't have to sleep in my truck to protect your vehicle during transport.

If I do - I must be stopping at Unsafe Areas to rest.

The rise in #2 diesel fuel prices means I can no longer afford to run a larger steel trailer unless I am fully loaded.

So I have purchased a lighter all aluminum trailer that weighs 50% less and will be using that while I
source a larger all aluminum enclosed car hauler trailer or have one custom built to my specifications.

  2. Last Saturday I dropped off
The Model T Speedster in Addison, Texas
    that I transported from California.

    B6FB6AFD-495E-4917-AFED-61F91C416F0B.jpeg

I met the new owner - Mark Wyant - at his private
airport hanger - where he took delivery.

    6F4836D1-E0FB-437D-8B50-7E5995331E3B.jpeg

A former commercial airline pilot - he now is a
Hotelier who owns several upscale properties.

Mark is going to drive The Model T Speedster
down to Galveston, Texas later this year in
conjunction with the open of his newly remodeled
Hotel Galvez which was originally built in 1910.

The Model T Speedster will remain on display.

Then I burned the midnight oil to get up to
Omaha, Nebraska to pick up this
    1909 Lambert Runabout Roller Project
that is going to Bradenton, Florida.

    2EC9DC84-81C7-4652-84A6-694C0C102331.jpeg

Then I stopped in Barstow, Oklahoma to
pick up this 1926 Ford Model T Roadster Roller
going to Lilleker Antique Auto Restoration
    In College Station, Texas.

I dropped off the Model T at Lilleker’s
and left Monday afternoon ahead of
a major winter storm affecting Texas.

  3. I was able to spend a few days in Florida
enjoying the weather - visiting friends.

Then I headed up to Braselton, Georgia
to pick up this beautiful 1969 Chevelle

    B45A9AD9-6893-4813-ABCD-3F1BCAFE1AE0.jpeg

The start of a trade between friends …

I navigated winter weather to Dallas Center, Iowa
to drop off to Kevin & his wife

Then I picked up this 1963 Chevy Belair

    7CC76FDF-CDF3-4527-88A9-38577941398E.jpeg

I was able to navigate the winter weather on
my return trip to Georgia and safely deliver
this gem to Justin & his wife on Wednesday

    3139D89D-35EB-440A-933E-D77660C070EE.jpeg

Then I hit the road for my next pick up
in Houston, Texas headed to Phoenix, Arizona.

  4. I am in the middle of my longest single
    vehicle transport to date.

A total of 5700 miles starting in Phoenix, Arizona and ending in Naples, Florida.

Thanks to volatile #2 diesel prices
I have re-structured my rate schedule.

I now charge a set base rate for vehicle slot size and add fuel cost per mile based on the region
of the country I am driving thru.

I carry 130 gallons of #2 diesel so
    that helps out a bit.

    I just completed my longest

Since 2006 I have been traveling the country
transporting vehicles to pay my way and
    Telling Stories From The Road.

I have met a lot of folks and formed lasting
friendships that come into play sometimes
to find a new Caretaker for a vehicle.

In February I took some videos of my friend
    Herb’s 1916 Telescoping Apartment which
is mounted on a running and driving
    1922 Model T Chassis.

It took Herb two years to build this.
It is the only running & driving example
known to exist in this country.

The little gas Shriners Tribute Car
was also sold and made the trip.

Then I went to work finding a new home
for it - which turned out to be The Volo Museum
    north of Chicago, Illinois.

Part of what I do to turn the wheel and
give back - no charge involved on my end.

So this past Sunday was spent visiting
with Co Founder Greg Grams getting
a behind the scenes tour and unrestricted
access to the 65 acre property to take several
videos of the 33 plus exhibits.

And I made another friend along with
adding another museum to visit when
I am back in the area.

  7. May 23rd

I dropped off this 1931 Model A in Boise, Idaho
last Thursday that I brought up from Phoenix
    and spent the weekend in
    beautiful & cool weather ….

    3A20CE4B-1D4D-4B88-8A76-737F301F4BCD.jpeg

Today I loaded up this 1955 Ford Survivor
Station Wagon that was sold new in Nampa, ID
and stayed in the same family until a few years ago when a retired orthopedic surgeon who is an
Idaho Native and practiced medicine in Pocatello
bought it - he had to make room for a third
Ford Woody Station Wagon he is restoring so he
sold it to a grateful gentleman in Los Angeles, CA.

    3A0DED15-7355-4451-9586-842687123835.jpeg

    B59FDC9A-73F5-4378-94E0-8EA1F6C65083.jpeg

    62EE9FB5-264B-400F-BD89-11552DB64370.jpeg

So I am headed to Auburn, California to pick up
a Model T from my friend Erik who does excellent mechanical restoration work on Model T’s and other early vehicles
( including pouring babbitt bearings ).

That Model T goes to Topanga, California.

Then I continue to Los Angeles, California
to drop off the 1955 Ford Survivor Station Wagon.

You can watch a detailed walk around video
taken at pick up on my You Tube Channel:

    @

After dropping off in Los Angeles, California
I am picking up this Model A and a couple
of sewing machine cabinets in Riverside ….

    2357960B-9F0E-450A-99E6-1739AC3E8A4B.jpeg

Then I head up to Turlock, California to
pick up this Model T C Cab that is 88 inches tall.

    7604B940-5FF9-4C70-8903-97289F8F174E.jpeg

That is not a problem for me because I custom
design my enclosed car hauler trailers with
96 inch clearance at the rear to accommodate
Early Brass Cars & Model T’s.

    So ….

I am FULL to Cleveland, OH where both
vehicles get dropped off within a few miles
    of each other …

Then I have to go pick up a 1910 Model T
in Lynchburg, Virginia that is my
anchor load back to Los Angeles, California.
