My poor comprehension of the English language (hillbilly here) got me into trouble again on my last post.

    My question should have said,

"How many years have we been using electric radiator fans on cars?"

Car manufacturers have used them for at least 40 years, Saab 99 had them, and probably many others too. On hotrods and customs? Probably since one was available and someone thought it would do the job on their car.

    Still doesn't make them traditional....

  4. Well, Jag was using them in the early '70s, so that gets you about 45 years... But it still doesn't quite get you to the 'traditional' era....

Looks like the Saab 99 had electrical fan from the beginning, 1969, so nearly 50 years. Someone else may have been earlier.

Sure, that doesn't make electrical fans traditional… but he didn't ask if they were. ;)

  6. sincr 65-66 for sure as I worked on a few series 1 and 2 e-types back in my jag days.

I’m sure European cars have been using them for a lot longer then that as well.
