When my best buddy (RIP) found it for sale & described it to me as an el Camino with a step side truck box, I said "NO THANKS!" He insisted I check it out. Yeah, I bought it. It's too bad they started with such a rust bucket.
some nice rides on this thread
last pic is the original bed
@59elcaminodave - hope to see your El locally when they free us. Wow - black '59 tri power W, if it's a 4 speed I'll call that my dream truck!
Looks like Bob Hendrix 60 from Michigan. Met him a few years ago at Frankenmuth Autofest and saw the Car again at Detroit Autorama. Beautiful car.
This one has my mind going...be a great daily driver...

Bo Huff built the coolest 57 Ranchero .I dig them all ,even the chevy elcamino.I built and daily drove a custom chop top elcamino for 15 years. It was a 70 , too new for the hamb.LOL.
Impala wheel & console. Nice!
A good friend of mine owns this 64 and dropped it off at my shop last week. He is restoring it and I am going to do some minor metal repair on it before the body is removed from the frame. It’s a 1 of a kind that came out of GM Styling for their show circuit when it was new.
