Thought you guys might like a couple of these shots , especially the Edsel club ambassador Shelley Cleaver. They had an Edsel convention in Kerrville,Tx and a freind of mine took the photos, but i thought they were rather interesting... Shelley Cleaver , National Edesel Club Ambassador.
I took in this event several years ago when it was around the corner from me in Batavia, NY. It was a really good show! Lot of cool Edsels including a Ranchero version (not the one pictured) and one of the very last convertibles ('60? '61?). Thanks for the post!
Hmmm... I don't know if you'd call 'em ugly. Ugly is a kind of ugly word. Let's just say that some folks considered them to be "stylistically challenged". They were different and they sure look a lot better some 50 years later! Looks like a great day, beautiful cars and some fantastic photos. You can't beat that!
I couldn't disagree more. They finally got the vertical grill right in '59 and the '60s are downright good looking cars. I think a '59 four-door hardtop would make a killer cruiser. Awesome, but someone get this man a pair of green cowboy boots.
I love the Edsel/Ranchero beautiful job. I remember seeing a 58 Edsel retractable skyliner conversion once that was real cool. Edsels aren't ugly. If you want ugly go to a new car dealer. Thats f'n' ugly!
well to each thier own if we all liked the same car we'd be in trouble i think the edsel went on a steady progression downward i could live with a59 but you couldnt give me a 60 sorry just me
60 lost most of it's Edsel identity to the parts bin and trying to make it less "58". I like all of them. I was laughing looking at those pictures. Me and my buddies are mostly in out early 30s and pride ourselves on having cool cars. The only people that talk to me about my car have Velcro shoes, fanny packs, and walkers. Looks like the same crew rolled into Texas. Still beautiful cars and thank you for the pics.
