Picked up this original X-1 recently. I didn't really pay attention to the pic on the auction site (price was right) but now it's here and I'm curious what the advantage or disadvantage is the have the carbs "reversed", at least compared to most I could find pictures of. It came from the factory like this, no filled holes etc. It has progressive linkage mounted on the front of the intake with Holley 2110's. Thanks!

I've seen 3 bolt and 4 bolt patterns but never reversed. My OEM X1 has them the other way around, no other thoughts on this one. Maybe a factory stuff up, someone ordered it that way (for a reason?) or it came blank and was drilled incorrectly? Accelerator linkage is reversed and pushes rather than pulls.

Maybe for a v drive boat with a reverse mounted engine?

I would make a jig and redrill it to turn the carbs around. Just remember to plug the unused holes.
