Alright, so my '60 Coupe Deville needs some help. Instead of the original Carter AFB-spacer w/PVC-metal shims-gaskets setup, it's been running an Edelbrock 1406 with a home-cut gasket and that's it. I want to keep the Edelbrock on it, but I don't know what gaskets/shims/spacers to use to prevent vacuum leaks, vapor lock, etc Here is the bottom of the current Edelbrock: Here is the bottom of a correct/OEM Carter AFB (yep, it's a little different): And here's the intake manifold: The gasket that's been on there: Is this a better gasket to use to avoid the blackened part above? So basically, how can I best mount the Edelbrock onto the stock manifold?? THANKS!
Man, not 100% positive on your 60 CDV, but on my 64 I had to block off those two vacuum ports (JB Weld) on the intake and put a 3/4" spacer to run my Edlebrock. Great improvement over stock This is a post for a 63/64, but may offer some help- http://6364cadillac.multiply.com/journal/item/9/My_Carburetor_Intake_project
We have some old discontinued Mr. Gasket carb gaskets that fit your intake manifold. We will be glad to send you one for free. Our thanks to the H.A.M.B. for allowing us to participate here.
