Just caught this on You Tube, just type in Ed Roth. The picture quality isn't the best, but the sound is excellent. Amazing.
Thank You so much! That was one of the neatest things I've seen and heard on here yet. Man O Man! You learn something new every day!
thanks that was incredible to see and hear never met von dutch or heard him speak before but thats how i expected him to be just a tell it like it is guy very cool
had to bring this to the top again,,,,what a cool video,,,,,,it's unbelievable to me that something like this drops to page 4 so quickly, while useless "drama queen" threads go for 6 pages and stay on the first page....
IS that the whole interview,or just part of it ? I'm on dial up,so I don't want to waste a lot of time downloading only part when I've seen it already.
I visit Stan Betz and buy paint from his store often. Betz Speed & Color. He was close to Von Dutch for many years. Betz had the first louver punch out here in the 40's I'd ever heard of. If you want to learn about those guys buy a book! It's called The Art, The Myth, The legend. It's by Pat Ganahl. It's the REAL DEAL Later, Ron
"If you can't draw, do things with your hands: forget it. You're not going to be a sign painter or a striper--Give it up." Good advice.
Oh my God!!! That is the hippest piece EVER!!! Dutch was really cool with Ed, they had a great understanding between them. I was able to meet them together at a couple of so-cal drag races in the 60's, Dutch was not always real stranger friendly but would accomodate the public to do business, but he and Ed were always interesting together. Thanks for alerting us to this incredible segment, notice how Dutch quotes his Dad who was truly his mentor.-Gracious-Sololobo
aint it great how necessity (or mistakes) is the mother of invention...and VonDutch was there, thank God!...What a character he was. Loved the story about covering up the grinder scratches in the paint on the nose and decked jobs...
Very cool, thanks for the link. It was cool to hear them talking about how he pick new trick / tip up as he went along. Thanks Sticks
