I drive a 47 Dodge D-24 as a daily driver. was under her the other nite and remembered that i welded the spring shackles under the rear axle.
ok, so between the axle and the rear frame bumper i have 6 sq. "of travel. i could go with a 2" axle spacer and have 4" travel, OR, go a 3" DROP/ spacer and have equal. anybody with me still??. ok my question!!!!!!!!!!. for all the work involved, i'm leanin toward the 3'', right? lower the better and still have 3'' travel with nobody in the back. stock springs/ sespention and all,

  2. you're gonna run out of travel really quick with only 3" available on a stock spring. Sounds like time to start notching!

  3. I would feel better with 4" of travel on a daily.

Yea, but that 3'' is to the frame bumper or cushin. i could remove that, stay with the 3" and still have enough?
